Museum Display Guidelines
GOAL: Create a museum display about the Northeast. Choose people, places, and events to include in your display. Write brief reports about the people, places, and events. Create at least two artifacts, drawings, timelines, maps and journal entries to go with your reports.
Step 1
Brainstorm ideas about how you will design your museum display. For example, will it be in chronological order?
Step 2
Work together to decide what information your groups wants to show in your museum.
Step 3
Use your research to think of creative ways to show the information to visitors, use maps, drawings, models, time lines, quotes.
Step 4
Organize your items in the museum display in a design. Make sure that information is easy to understand.
Step 5
Take turns reviewing the groups work. Are all the facts correct? Is everything labeled?

1. Map of the Northeast (labeled)
2. Geography of the Northeast
3. Climate of the northeast
4. How people use the natural resources of this area
LESSON 2/pages 116-121
5. Description of the early people of the northeast (how did the survive, how did they get along)
6. Explain how the colonies of the Northeast were formed
7. Explanation of the Northeast role in the American Revolution
8. Timeline of the history of the Northeast
9. Analyze the time line (explain some of the events)
10. Explain the history of the Declaration of Independence (how did we form our nation?)

11. Explain how transportation evolved in the Northeast and how they improved the area
12. Describe the changes that immigration made to the Northeast
13. Describe in detail the industrial revolution

14. Explain how New England’s history shaped life there today.
15. How did people in New England use their natural resources.

16. Identify the major cities in the Middle Atlantic States.
